Mercedes 300D Adenauer 1953 cabriolet model

The Mercedes 300 series is sometimes calles Mercedes Adenauer because of Konrad Adenauer, the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany in the fifties. When it comes to car sales, the cheaper Ponton series were not as rare as the Mercedes 300 Adenauer.

The veteran car in the picture is a very special model from 1953 with it’s good paintwork, no corrosion and then of course the fact that this is a cabriolet model. As you can see, it was easy for rich people of the fifties to get seen in this special type of vehicle.
